The Kristensen Group’s international expansion started in 2002 with the purchase of land for and initial development on the first project, Marinapark Scharmützelsee, located southeast of Berlin. Although this happened at a time where the German economy was at a low point, the introduction of the Kristensen concept, using high-quality, luxuriously appointed Scandinavian-style holiday properties was a success from the beginning. At the first sales weekend in Easter 2004, the development had more than 4000 visitors and nearly 40 properties were sold – a highly unusual situation for the German market.
Today, 5 years later, the Kristensen Group is the leading provider of holiday properties in Germany, with a number of sold-out projects of several hundred units, and upcoming projects with a total of 1000 units in development across the country, with a proposed investment of over €200 million. As well as coastal and inland regions of Germany, the company are also continuing with its growth strategy by preparing to enter into the southern German and Austrian holiday property markets, where the combination of ski resorts and lakeside projects will create year-round and long term rental investments.
Kristensen Group has approximately 20 staff in Germany, based in the company’s impressive Berlin headquarters. It is led by Per Barlag Arnholm, Managing Director, who has been responsible for Kristensen Group Germany since its inception. The holding company Kristensen Group Deutschland AG has a professional board of directors led by Dr. Thomas Reichelt, a Hamburg-based solicitor.
