La Boheme

Location

The exciting coastal village of Cala Rajada is located on a small rocky peninsula on eastern Majorca, just 65 km from the capital Palma, approx. 50 minutes’ drive along the newly completed expressway.

Cala Rajada has approx. 2500 inhabitants, and is surrounded by mountains and pine forests. With numerous cafes, bars and ice cream parlors, the promenade is an ideal spot for a walk, drinks, and an evening meal. There are also several nightclubs for dancing and partying later on. Finally, the promenade also hosts typical Majorcan celebrations and feasts all year round.

Cala Rajada (Bay of Rays) was originally a port serving the island’s most important industry at the time, deep sea fishing. Today, Cala Rajada is still the second largest fishing port on the island, and still offers freshly caught delicacies on site. Today, however, the port is not only home to traditional fishing boats, but also modern trawlers, sailboats, as well as tourist vessels and speedboats. An express boat trip to the neighbouring island of Menorca takes about 75 minutes.
